LLaffan is a fictitious location somewhere on the coast line of the former Cambrian Railways set in the late 1950’s/early 1960’s.

Many happy holidays spent on the Cambrian coast has inspired the construction of this layout in 00 gauge (4mm/ft) fine scale.

Pen-Y-Bont was originally conceived as an entry into RMWeb model rail forum “Layout Challenge” competition. The rules of this competition limited the size of the entry to six square feet.

I also wanted to build a small portable layout that could be easily erected by one man in a short time and be easily transported in a normal family car.

Pen-y-bont was the outcome although now bigger than six square feet so will not now form an entry into the competition.

The layout is under construction and progress can be seen by clicking the station name above.
